CHILD SAFETY & VOLUNTEERS
At St Mary's we take Child Safety very seriously. As with all Victorian schools, we are required to follow the Victorian Child Safe standards. The safety and wellbeing of the children is our primary concern.
We welcome and actively encourage our parents and caregivers to be engaged in our school community. We know that our children do better and our community will be more collaborative when we all work together to attain the best outcomes for our children.
All parents and caregivers who would like to volunteer in our school need to participate in our annual SMART (St Mary's Assistance Readiness) program which is held in Term One of each year. This ensures that we are able to support our volunteers in their participation in school whilst ensuring we maintain our focus on child safety.
Once volunteers have completed the SMART training night, they will need to view and complete the forms below and return these to the school office.
